Mellon Capital Management, a top tier global multi-asset investment manager, is currently seeking a highly qualified Senior Multi-Asset Researcher to join their team.
The incumbent will be part of the asset allocation research group that is responsible for designing, developing and testing new models and enhancing existing models in the asset allocation investment area. Major responsibilities for the role include building, enhancing and validating performance generation strategies and risk models for equities, bonds, currencies and/or commodities markets. Additionally the incumbent will help with implementation and production as needed.  The role will also be expected to work on customized strategies and conducting analysis for clients.

General Job Description:
As part of the research team, the Senior Research Analyst is expected to lead the quantitative research effort designed to extend the firm's capabilities in generating alpha from equity and fixed income markets. The position requires complete understanding of how various parts of the organization (mostly portfolio management, trading and client servicing) work together to achieve business objectives. The position requires very strong analytical and quantitative skills to identify effective and innovative solutions to solving a wide array of research problems. The position requires a deep understanding of economic/financial theory and of the investment process and production environment. The position affects the business directly by providing support for the existing investment strategies as well as contributing to improvements of the strategies. The position requires that the candidate has good communication skills in order to share her/his research results internally with peers, both verbally and in written form. The position also requires that the candidate interacts and works effectively with the research and the portfolio management teams. Eventually, the position may lead to interaction with clients whereby the candidate will be asked to present / discuss / explain various research projects. 


  • Ph.D. degree or Master's degree in finance or economics preferred, with minimum of 2+ years of investment research experience.
  • Strong knowledge on economic/finance theory and quantitative finance.
  • Extensive knowledge on global markets and multi-asset class investing.
  • Familiar with various market instruments, market conventions and risk management tools. 
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Technically competent, including solid skills on econometrics, Excel and Matlab.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
