Mellon Capital Management (MCM), a leader in index and asset allocation strategies, is seeking a developer with a keen eye for Web Application UI design, unit testing as it relates to UI, excellent communication skills, and strong technical skills to be a part of a software engineering team tasked with delivering a next-gen Equity Portfolio Management system.

  • Work in a global team setting to design and develop an equity PM system implemented in a web front end and Microsoft back-end while utilizing an event-driven, service-oriented application architecture
  • Design and test application Interface in JS, Angular 1.0, HTML5, CSS, SASS, C#, SQL, Dapper, RESTful API's, in a .NET development environment.
  • Implement and oversee best practices and regression testing procedures to ensure quality of development across the team is maintained and can enter UAT with only minor change requirements
  • Apply and implement best practices associated with User Experience and Interface design for a modern financial web application
General Job Description:
Develop software and set up full data/statistic model production processes including design, code, test and support in various technologies for our Active Equity Strategy business. Basic responsibilities include: * Implement active equity factor models in production using SQL/SAS. * Maintain daily model and data processes to ensure results are timely and accurate. * Convert non-SAS/SQL server code to SAS/SQL. * Develop ad-hoc applications as requested by researchers and portfolio managers. * Review and document existing data and model processes. * Work with other developers across different offices to establish consistency of process design for active equity business. 

  • 5+ years of experience with JS, HTML5, CSS, RESTful APIs, .NET development
  • 2+ years of experience with Angular 1.0, JSON, XML, SASS, C#, SQL, Dapper ORM desired
  • Detail oriented, with excellent quantitative and analytical skills are a must
  • Self-driven and motivated with a strong work ethic are a must
  • Excellent technical and business oriented communication skills are a must. Experience working extensively with business analysts, project managers, and end users to understand complex business requirements
  • High comprehension ability and quick thinker that can demonstrate a cognitive knowledge of a given subject matter
  • Experience in or certification with User Experience design or proven track record of delivering efficient, effective, and functional interfaces highly desired. At minimum a basic knowledge of UI/UE best practices and design principles
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team with other specialized individuals and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Knowledge and/or experience working in financial industries highly desired.  Experience developing investment or portfolio systems in support of investment business processes and extra plus.
  • Experience with design patterns and data modeling, such as MVC and MVVM
  • Experience with message event techniques such as MSMQ, SQL Server Service Broker is a plus
  • BA/BS in related engineering or financial field highly desirable
  • Ability to provide a strong portfolio of past work for consideration is helpful
