Results Analysis is a global team with locations in Los Angeles, Irvine, London, and Singapore. Results Analysis provides overall fund performance and attribution to stakeholders across Capital Group. As a Results Analyst, based in Los Angeles, California you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely data to Distribution (Sales and Marketing), clients, shareholders, and other teams.

Depending on the role, responsibilities can include:

•Performance measurement - calculating, validating, maintaining, and interpreting portfolio results for retail mutual funds, institutional accounts, Portfolio Managers, Research Analysts, and composites

•Performance evaluation - portfolio attribution, style analysis, benchmark analysis, transaction and holdings analysis (e.g., portfolio concentration, portfolio turnover, etc.)

•Client support - explaining calculations, researching issues, and fulfilling ad hoc requests

•Analytics and risk analysis - calculation and interpretation; setting and monitoring alerts

•Research coverage support - including the maintenance and analysis of custom benchmarks for Research Analysts

•Process optimization - developing best practices, increasing efficiency, enhancing capabilities, and mitigating risks

•Ensuring compliance - developing, maintaining and adhering to procedures to ensure SEC and GIPS compliance

•Project support - partnering with other business units, our Information Technology Group, or external vendors

•Systems analysis - troubleshooting issues, researching transaction posting, or evaluating how to process and report new investment types

•Data analysis - Validating and integrating data from multiple platforms or products to build custom exhibits; using SQL to pull and manipulate data

•Business Intelligence and Reporting - Using Excel, Tableau, Crystal Reports, or Business Objects to develop creative and compelling exhibits

•Presentation - delivering analytical presentations that target internal and external clients

•Programing - automate processes or develop new models (e.g., VBA, R, MATLAB, etc.)

•Designing solutions - anticipate and understand data needs to develop creative solutions

•Leadership - lead projects; may direct the work of others; identify new opportunities/strategies

Hiring Criteria

Candidates are preferred to have a Bachelor's degree in business, finance, mathematics, economics, statistics, computer science, MIS, or other quantitative field. Candidates should also have:

•Experience with Multi Asset (strongly preferred), Fixed Income and/or Equity

•Excellent problem solving skills and intellectual curiosity

•High service orientation, integrity, and ownership of work

•Strong communication skills

•Interpersonal savvy and an ability to work effectively in a team environment

•Knowledge and interest in finance and asset management

•An ability to analyze both data and processes

•Excellent MS Excel skills (e.g., functions, charting, and pivot tables)

Senior candidates should also have:

•Have a related charter (CIPM, CFA, and/or FRM), a related MBA, or have significant and related experience in the field

•Some experience with related systems (e.g., FactSet Portfolio Analysis, Point, Style Research, Style Advisor, Bloomberg, MorningStar Direct, BI-SAM B-One, Tableau, Business Objects, or Crystal)

•Data modeling, data manipulation skills, or experience with data warehouse design may be required for some roles
