Cash Management Specialist

The Operations Cash Management Group is responsible for efficiently and effectively monitoring and reporting cash flow information for the Firm’s Clients Accounts and Mutual Funds. The Cash Management Specialist will have responsibilities for supporting the team with cash flow processing for all investment products. This position will require a solid understanding of cash flow impacts for cash forecasting and portfolio investing.

The Cash Management Specialist will work closely with internal and external business partners and respond to inquiries from other key groups within the firm, including Portfolio Reconciliation, Mutual Fund Group, Client Services and the Trading Desk.


Provide support to the trading desk and respond to inquiries for operations cash management related issues.
Key responsibilities include processing cash flows from multiple custodians/fund administrators, following up with relevant groups regarding cash flow discrepancies or unexpected cash flows, and researching/finding resolution for cash issues.
Develop a complete understanding of the operational processes and procedures to ensure a high level of accuracy is maintained in the Firm’s operations cash management reporting and processes.
Effectively manage and report all cash inflows and outflows to the firms various mutual fund.
Reconcile and resolve all cash exceptions with custodian banks and transfer agents.
Interact with custodian banks, transfer agents, and internal departments (Trading, Client Service, etc.) when necessary to ensure timely notification of all cash flows and discrepancies.
Maintain and update procedures.
Participate in various strategic initiatives.
Comply with legal/compliance and procedural guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics or similar field
Two plus (2+) years of experience in Cash Management, preferably at a “buy side” firm
Proven capability to work collaboratively across functional teams
Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships with both internal/external parties
Self-motivated and is able to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to perform at a high standard while under pressure of meeting strict deadlines
Experience with identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner
Critical thinking ability, rigorous attention to detail, and highly accurate with numerical calculations
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Desired Qualifications:

Basic understanding of cash impact on portfolios (duration, hedging, etc.)
Experience with SharePoint
