Accounting Manager The Accounting Manager – is an integral part of a growing accounting team and the ideal candidate will have strong operational experience in month-end close, revenue recognition, consolidation, intercompany accounting, foreign exchange and derivative accounting, equity accounting, stock-based compensation, accounts payable, payroll, and SOX compliance. This position will report to the Corporate Controller.

Essential outcomes include:

  • Timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual close process resulting in required GAAP financial statements
  • Compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles(GAAP)
  • Monthly consolidation and intercompany accounting for US and EU operations
  • GL schedules including fixed assets, pre-paid assets and expenses, and accruals maintained monthly
  • Manage the Company’s stock administration and capitalization table, including stock based compensation ASC 718
  • Analyze budget vs. actual variances and review with the management team on a monthly basis
  • Perform financial statement analytics and provide relevant explanations for account fluctuations
  • Read, interpret and guide staff in determination of proper US GAAP and IFRS accounting treatment of complex deals/transactions
  • Manage audits by interfacing with auditors, ensuring timely completion of supporting schedules related to annual financials audits
  • Identify and implement process improvements to help reduce time to close and improve upon accuracy of underlying accounting records.
  • Provide support to management and internal customers as needed including ad-hoc special projects

Position requirements and experience:

  • Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
  • BA/BS in Finance or Accounting required
  • CPA required
  • Experience in international accounting operations and consolidations required
  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics NAV system is a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookup, macros)
  • Experience with Equity Edge preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, both written and verbal
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Evidence of ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to build strong relationships with co-workers of various backgrounds and expertise
