The Banking Reform Project Manager will support the Technology & Operations (T&O) workstreams in the Project Management responsibilities and overall successful delivery of the Banking Reform Programme.

The role-holder will closely work with the Programme Management Lead to ensure plans are aligned and appropriate methodology and process is implemented on the programme. The role-holder will ensure that Work streams deliver to agreed business plans within cost, quality and timescale ensuring the benefits identified in the business case are realised.

As a Banking Reform Project Manager your main responsibilities will be:

  • Act as a subject matter expert for the Banking Reform Programme in project and programme business case creation and delivery phase initiation.
  • Assess and analyse both individual project / programme and overall implementation costs and benefits, and significant business critical risks touched by the programme. Set projects and programmes up with the data and knowledge to effectively monitor and control programme costs through the lifecycle.
  • Responsible for the Engagement of various business stakeholders within Technology & Operations (T&O) and associated business in respect to the Banking Reform Programme.
  • Responsible for the definition and documentation of multiple plans, costs and deliverables across all work stream within the T&O Banking Reform Programme.
  • Successfully capture and manage risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies, ensuring they are validated with counterparties / stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Working with the key project / programmes stakeholders, the role will drive creation of robust business cases, provide support through the central governance process, and ensure the project is set up for success at initiation.

Minimum skills and experience required:

  • Experience in large and complex retail or corporate banking programmes with expertise in creating and implementing methodology, and developing complex business cases.
  • Prior experience of regulatory change in a banking or other financial services environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Previous responsibility for planning and managing the larger and more complex long-term projects which will significantly affect the whole organisation.
  • Business case creation desirable coupled with experience of working in a highly regulated, customer based organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in analysing end-to-end retail or corporate banking processes
  • Experience in facilitating and hosting workshops and focus groups with SMEs and senior stakeholders
  • Disciplined work approach including the ability to work to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy is essential
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Visio
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 qualification or equivalent
