My client, a Leading Investment Bank in London are looking to recruit a VP Middle Office professional with regulatory exposure. Previous experience of leading sizeable middle office RTB teams and driving strategy across a function would be advantageous alongside cross asset product knowledge.

This team is a focused function to enable a consistent and efficient approach to scoping and impact assessments to improve assignment and execution of Regulatory reform challenges. 
• Analyse regulatory requirements to map to internal entities, products, client categories, trading scenarios etc. to define high level scope
• Evaluate commercial implications of regulatory requirements and outline high level “tradability” implications
• Provide insight into how regulatory challenges impact existing major programs within the IB to assist functions, businesses, and programs to connect impact, dependency, and design

• Establish high level process design to support changes to client, commercial offering and impacted controls in alignment with IB operating principles and IB Process Taxonomy
• Simplify and improve F2B strategic processes using Regulatory requirements as a catalyst
• Drive common interpretation & adherence to core design principles to avoid risk of diverging/conflicting solutions across programs and functions
• Leverage IB Process Taxonomy and Standards to identify impacted  Process Owners and outline target state roles and responsibilities at early stage in regulatory change lifecycle


 Key Accountabilities
• Work with key partners (Legal, Compliance, Markets Structure, Business) to breakdown significant regulatory reform requirements as basis for impact assessment activity
• Apply consistent analysis methodology to determine scoping implications of regulatory reform challenges (e.g. internal entities, products, client categories, trading scenarios)
• Identify and work with key stakeholders across Business and Infrastructure to determine and validate analysis
• Provide a focused engagement point within IB for major strategic initiatives with cross asset class impact
• Provide a centre of expertise and advisory capability in assessing process and operating model design implications for regulatory challenges
• Support the use of the Process Taxonomy/Component Business Model mapping and linkage ; help determine WHERE a given process is best placed in F2B
• Identify cross functional process improvement opportunities through regulatory analysis to drive cross-business process standardization to gain efficiency and reduce manual activity, Partnering w/ LEAN
•  Ensure that commercial and trade eligibility obligations are assessed as part of regulatory impact
• Encourage the business to be mindful of clients and functions when making architecture design prioritization decisions
• Provide advisory services to the Design Authority ensuring process design integrity and consistency across asset classes and functions
• Apply consistent methodology to summarise and syndicate impact assessment deliverables with key stakeholders and relevant governance (e.g. Regulatory Change Oversight  Panel, IB Design Authority)


 Person Specification
• Previous experience of Cross Asset Regulatory analysis and implementation is essential
• Knowledgeable of cross asset Change initiatives, business processes inefficiencies, and the front to back infrastructure
• Ability to support & steer analysis, design, governance, and control of regulatory change
• Experience engaging with senior Business stakeholders to act as engagement point for cross asset regulatory assessment
• Has proven track record in working with broad, cross cutting regulatory change drivers
• Relevant product knowledge and supporting functions in one or more asset classes
• Be able to understand and translate complex regulatory, business requirements into practical, actionable analysis and execution proposals
• Can liaise between the business, IT, and the functions to create common terminology by moving away from technical or product specific references
• Ability to identify non automated and non-strategic business processes and propose sustainable and pragmatic design options
• Can see through the complexity of an organization and the current processes to solve for best in class solutions
• Can understand and translate processes easily without being a subject matter expert in a product or asset class
• Has practical knowledge of how front to back system architecture operates
