Overview:

You will join a team that supports a complex set of business applications, and is the interface for all of Deutsche Bank's front, middle and back office client facing and trading businesses.

Key responsibilities:

  • Handling high priority incident tickets, working with members of the team and Developers to resolve incidents, ensuring that affected Users and Management are always kept informed
  • Supporting the respective Functional teams, and provide expertise and assistance to ensure effective services are provided by Service Management
  • Liaising with Business Users, whilst managing a complex technology plant
  • Taking ownership of problem tickets that have been raised for your application set
  • Collaborating with Technology Partners to provide resolution for open problems, or to ensure that the appropriate parties have been tasked with doing so
  • Creating knowledge articles from the experience gained in resolving incidents, which can be used by application support teams to solve incidents quicker and better
  • Managing technical queries and compliance/audit reporting
  • Producing business and technical communications for incidents
  • Compiling trade data for business requestors (Compliance, desk)
  • Carrying out morning checks in conjunction with vendor or other teams
  • Monitoring use and continual improvement using firm standard toolsets
  • Preparing for business and technology events, e.g. economic announcements to disaster recovery tests
  • Producing change notices
  • Carrying out binary and configuration changes
  • Monitoring systems during critical business events
  • Carrying out Plant and process improvement projects
  • Carrying out continual service management process improvement, Identifying process improvements in the regional and global support models, and assisting in their implementation, working with Project Managers on the introduction, and supportability of new services and systems
  • Producing Management Information System (MIS) reports, on the overall quality of services
  • Following up and resolving issues of poor service quality

Skills and Qualifications:

  • The ability to multi task, prioritise work and adapt during sometimes pressured situations
  • Able to effectively work with Business Users, Developers and other technology colleagues outside of your direct team, across a broad range of business functions and at all levels of the organisation
  • The ability to relate a technical issue to business impact and vice versa
  • Following issues along a technical or business process to define a problem to solve
  • Able to organise and relate unstructured information to plan a problem solutio
  • Able to use multiple sources of information for root cause analysis (e.g. log files, error messages, user feedback)
  • A demonstrable good understanding of technology and competency in interacting with it via command line and graphical user interfaces interfaces.
  • Reasonable working experience in financial institutions or vendor houses, in proving a trading solution
  • Able to translate technical details in to business semantics and vice versa
  • Previous experience with cash equities trading system support and knowledge of the trade life cycle (beneficial)
  • Experience with using UNIX, Linux, Wintel, Perl/Shell scripting, Excel and VBA as well as the ability to write SQL to extract and patch data in Sybase and Oracle databases
  • Knowledge of or experience of working within complex systems in large organisation's
  • Finance industry experience or other industry involved in large scale real time messaging and batch processing
  • The ability to read and write scripts in common languages (Shell/Perl/Python)
  • Experience of working in global virtual teams and in matrix structures
  • Support experience on trading applications/client connectivity/market connectivit
  • Specific technical capabilities around Unix, Linux, Wintel or databases
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) V3 Foundation Certification
  • Bachelor Degree in information technology/ computer science/ engineering related disciplines, or the equivalent experience or qualifications
  • Some experience of managing a team (beneficial)
