We are seeking a Technology Risk Senior Manager to join our Technology team based in London


About The Role

We are seeking someone who can help drive and embed our Risk Framework, including Risk Mitigation & Control Improvement, as well as providing strategic risk leadership across our technology projects and teams. Additionally, this individual will be expected to provide pragmatic guidance within the context of local policies, as well as legal and regulatory requirements as they impact Technology at a global Investment Bank.




Key responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders in the EMEA region, including Technology, Compliance, Legal, Sourcing & Vendor Management, Business and Technology Resilience, and Operational Risk Management counterparts
  • Advise technology project leaders and stakeholders of the risk management and control requirements for new systems and major system changes
  • Provide support for educating, advising and ensuring adherence to Macquarie's risk and regulatory requirements
  • Perform incident management root cause risk analysis, identifying control breakdowns and developing action plans to address future recurrence
  • Collate, analyse and report key risk indicators in the Technology leadership
  • Proactively aid in the identification and assessment of IT risks and provide advice on appropriate risk mitigation strategies to reduce risk and improve controls
  • Coordinate IT responses to internal and external audits and assist team efforts to strengthen internal controls of IT
  • Champion risk, compliance and security initiatives, and assist in the rollout of Macquarie policies
  • Promote and highlight sound risk management behaviours to all staff levels, contributing to enhanced expectations around the maturity of Macquarie's risk culture
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of risk management practices and awareness
  • Support the delivery of operational processes such as policy dispensation approval





About You

To be successful in this role as a Technology Risk Manager you will possess a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or another related field, along with previous Technology Risk Management experience. You should also have experience in the financial services industry, with specific focus on the technology-related risks of Investment Banking products. Ideal candidates will also have experience in IT Security, internal/external audit, and technology compliance.

In addition to this you will have:

  • Strong stakeholder management and business engagement positions, including the ability to establish relationships and build credibility quickly
  • The ability to articulate the business risks and potential impacts associated with technical vulnerabilities and risks
  • Proven leadership capability in a large-scale investment bank with a global footprint
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to appropriately challenge decisions made by others, including business leaders
  • Strong understanding of IT Risk Management frameworks (including COBIT 5) and techniques including current knowledge of best practice IT controls and familiarity with GRC tools
  • Industry relevant certifications (ISACA CISA/CISM/CRISC)
  • Advanced organization skills, with the ability to manage expectations above and across the firm to key stakeholders under tight deadlines
  • Data privacy and experience with cross-border data protection obligations preferred but not required
