We require a solution architect to work onsite with our clients and help them achieve their business aims by providing architectural, domain, and delivery expertise at the solution level. We require a solution architect to work onsite with our clients and help them achieve their business aims by providing architectural, domain, and delivery expertise at the solution level. While our projects will usually have a strong technology element, the senior solution architect will focus on relating technology capabilities and building blocks to the business drivers and goals.

Most importantly, you’ll have demonstrated the ability to architect, design and estimate complex solutions and ensure these are achievable within the client’s environment. The role requires someone with a passion for the detail, an understanding of governance, experience in system integration, and the ability to frame and deliver a compelling argument.

As a consultant you will know when to be flexible to accommodate change and when to push back, you will also understand the importance of adapting your communication style to manage differing situatiuons. Your overriding aim will be to do whatever it takes to bring the client closer to successful delivery. Formal architectural deliverables will be a major part of this, but often points such as obtaining internal signoffs, maintaining good relations with nearshore/offshore staff, and clear face-to-face communication will be the deciding factors. You’ll therefore have a background that shows an outcome-focused view, rather than a focus on writing pure architecture documents.

Architecturally, the role requires both solution architecture skills, and the ability to apply them in a business and technology context. You’ll understand the formal deliverables and steps that characterize solution architecture in general, but you’ll also have enough domain and technology background to apply those steps in a relevant and outcome-focused way.

Your career to date will include communicating with business and management stakeholders as necessary and providing clarity on complicated technological points. Most importantly, you’ll have demonstrated the ability to architect, design and estimate complex banking solutions and ensure these solutions were achievable within the client’s environment. You will also be able to show how your passion for detail, understanding of governance, and ability to frame and deliver a compelling argument helped you achieve this.
