An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing boutique asset manager in the Exchange Traded Product (ETP) space. As a research analyst, he/she will have a pivotal role in supporting the research team in a diverse set of responsibilities covering major asset classes, including equities, commodities, fixed income and FX.

The ideal person would be someone who thrives in a naturally dynamic company in start-up and launch phases. You will have some experience in the financial markets at a bank or asset management company. As part of the Research team you will be exposed to key facets of the business. This is a unique opportunity to have a direct and meaningful impact on the development of a business in its high growth stage.

Job Description

  • Assist with development of research collateral regarding Exchange Traded Products (UCITS ETFs and S&L ETPs)
  • Apply financial-economic theory and principles in generating market, industry and product specific research content relevant for major asset classes and investment products
  • Articulate the investment case in commentary of research pieces disseminated to clients, media and press
  • Develop and maintain databases and templates to run large bulk data sets, and conduct detailed analysis on fundamental index characteristics (such as performance, risk and valuation), for own and competitor ETPs
  • Become proficient in index construction methods for indices from own and a variety of index providers and in several different asset classes
  • Assist with regular reporting to management on research projects and day to day tasks
  • Assist with the development of marketing materials, presentations, and investment ideas and press releases that is integral to research collateral
  • Assist with collating research material for new listings and market expansion
  • Assist with queries from Sales and MarketingAssist with new listings and market expansion
  • Assist with development of Exchange Traded Products
  • Continually expand and deepen investment, industry and product knowledge and the latest relevant investment and index research and trends
  • Continually expand and deepen investment, industry and ETP product knowledge and the latest relevant investment and index research and trends
  • Work with a range of stakeholders including index providers, banks, investment managers, stock exchanges, data providers

Requirements

Past Experience

  • At least 24 months exposure to the industry within a relevant role such as asset management, index development, financial consulting
  • Strong Excel & preferably VBA is a must
  • Knowledge of Access/SQL highly valued
  • Experience working with Bloomberg and Morningstar
  • Academics preferably in the field of Financial Economics

  • Eligible to work in the UK, EU
  • Other EU languages an advantage (Italian, French, German)

Education

  • Excellent grades in a BSc or BA in business, economics, finance, accounting or any relevant degree.
