Job Summary:

The Recruiter will be aligned to manage the internal and external recruitment activity for a number of business areas of State Street Bank & Trust including, but not limited to, Global Markets, Global Exchange, Sector Solutions and EMEA FLOD Office.  They will report to the TA manager, who is based in London.

The recruiter will develop close working relationships with line managers, HR Business Partners, Global Talent Acquisition colleagues and the wider GHR Centres of Excellence. The recruiter will manage all aspects of the recruitment process from validation of headcount approval through to day 1 of employment.

State Street operates a direct sourcing model which requires the Recruiter to proactively utilise direct sourcing channels and methods whilst continuously identifying new and innovative sourcing approaches. A key component of the role will be proactively advising the business on acquiring talent, identification and selection of talent and candidate pipelining initiatives.

Major Responsibilities:

The Recruiter will be responsible for the end to end recruitment cycle. To deliver this, the successful candidate will:

  • Consult with line managers on current and future hiring needs, to ensure appropriate resourcing strategy is in place

  • Assist in creating and implementing a holistic experienced hire recruiting strategy for assigned businesses to support their regional goals

  • Utilise targeted direct sourcing strategies, screening methods and selection tools to ensure agency fees are minimised

  • Partner with TA sourcers  to identify, attract and hire “best in class” talent

  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates to support continuous recruiting

  • Assist with tracking and reporting of recruiting statistics and maintain ATS data with a high level of integrity and accuracy

  • Ensure a positive candidate and manager experience during every stage of the recruitment process

  • Manage the full offer process including compensation approvals & negotiations with both the line manager and candidate

  • Facilitate the pre-boarding, to ensure the new employee experiences a smooth transition to State Street

  • Ensure an approach of “risk excellence” and adherence to the rules and regulations which State Street are required to meet e.g SMCR

  • Manage vendor relationships with external recruiting agencies where necessary

  • Actively participate in global talent acquisition and HR initiatives

  • Participate in graduate recruiting activities as required

Level of Education:

  • Undergraduate degree preferrable

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience & knowledge of the UK financial services sector developed in an in-house recruiting role

  • Previous experience in a search firm or recruitment agency environment with proven cold calling / headhunting, sourcing and candidate management experience

  • Self-starter, flexible and adaptable to constant change with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment

  • Confident in managing a large portfolio of diverse roles from junior to mid management levels

  • Sophisticated influencing skills and stakeholder management

  • Confidence in recommending and using a variety of effective sourcing strategies (both domestic and international) to assist in the development of a diverse pipeline of candidates

  • Strong track record in engaging  with line managers on the recruitment process

  • Highly honed competency based interview technique

  • Act as a diversity champion, ensuring candidate slates reflect a diverse demographic

  • Strong analytical & presentation skills – Excel, PowerPoint

  • Second European language advantageous e.g. French, German, Italian or Polish

  • Delivery orientated with strong service approach. Ability to navigate a complex matrix global organisation

  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems: PeopleSoft & Workday

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
