Purpose of the Role :

As a Business Development Consultant, the individual is responsible for DDQs (Due Diligence Questionnaires) and other ad-hoc queries for clients and prospective clients.  Additionally the individual will provide support for other members of the Business Development Consultant Team.

This group supports the sales/relationship management effort by completing all DDQs for strategies domiciled in Europe, collaborating with investment teams, relationship management and various units throughout the business.

Specific Duties :

  • Complete DDQs and other ad-hoc queries to a high standard and in accordance with required deadlines on a range of investment strategies, encompassing but not limited to equities, fixed income and alternative asset classes.

  • Become fluent in working with various internal systems and databases used for statistical data (e.g. performance systems, assets under management). 

  • Help maintain RFP repository system.

  • Commit towards on-going quality improvements by creating or updating DDQ standard responses and working on value projects.

  • Contact point for specific asset classes/strategies and partner with relevant Investment Teams

 Technical & Education Requirements :

  • Ideally to degree standard.

  • We ideally need some-one with previous RFP or sales support role with industry experience (asset management - ideally 3-5 years).

  • IMC or CFA qualification (or equivalent) preferred (or working towards) but not essential.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, Proposal/RFP software is essential. Proficiency in Bloomberg and FactSet is preferred but not essential.

  • Fluency in English and business fluency in other European languages would be an asset.

  • Willing to demonstrate initiative and assume responsibility and take ownership of tasks assigned.

Personal Profile :

  • You should demonstrate interest/knowledge of financial markets and a commitment to learning.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills are required.

  • Capacity to learn and understand all investment products and strategies offered by SSGA.

  • You should be detail-orientated self-starter, with the ability to maintain a very high degree of accuracy whilst working in a high-pressure and exciting environment.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and meet deadlines.

  • Strong organisational and analytical skills.

  • Able to work well within a team and be enthusiastic, motivated and open.
