Are you looking for an exciting opportunity within an ambitious firm? If so, a fantastic opportunity has arisen in our Corporate Audit Insurance team. The Insurance sector provide advice on a wide range of issues, including audit and assurance services, corporate governance and risk advisory, regulatory advisory including section 166 skilled person work and portfolio transfers, actuarial loss loss-reserving, taxation, solvency and regulatory compliance, management information systems, litigation support and forensic accounting.

Your duties will include:

· Ensure the PROaudit pack has been approved by a manager/partner before carrying out an audit
· Prepare to be out of office at client sites for 70% of the time conducting audits and advising on accounting packages
· Demonstrate a good base knowledge of corporation tax, income tax, VAT, PAYE, company secretarial procedures and applications
· Manage the audit process, including budgets and timescales as well as completing required forms, providing commentary on accounts, summarising outstanding points to managers, analytical review, passing file to senior team members, and finalising all review points.
· For accountancy engagements,  prepare a set of final accounts in insurance entity format and disclosures
· Achieve deadlines and understand the commercial implications of actions relating to productivity, recoverability, fee income and client service
· Good understanding of UK GAAP and/or IFRS including insurance accounting
· Comply with Companies House and other statutory deadlines
· Complete compliance reports, ensuring the Compliance department are informed of high risk clients
· Identify internal control weaknesses, communicating weaknesses through the preparation of a management letter
· Ensure ISA 260 letters are issued
· Ensure office and on site audit work is carried out, including allocation of work within the designated team, in a professional manner
· Provide effective on the job training for junior members of staff, supervising and giving instructions
· Responsible for handing back complete audit file at the end of the client audit
· Complete job appraisals for junior members of the team

We are looking for the following attributes as outlined below:

· Qualifications: (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
· Solid experience in practice, 50% of which should be relevant audit experience
· Previous exposure/working knowledge of PROaudit
· Ideally worked within a top 20 firm
· Proven understanding of insurance industry
· Proven experience of auditing insurance companies, including (but not limited to) brokers, mutuals, syndicates, re-insurance, P&I clubs
· Involved with objective setting
· Influence internal clients/colleagues
· Work under pressure with accuracy and focus
· Excellent technical and analytical skills
· Good communication and presentation skills
· Competent using MS Office
· Good understanding of business and economy
· Proven planning and prioritising skills
· Strong organisational and time management skills
· Keen to add value to our clients’ businesses
· Team worker/people management skills
