Our client is a a leading global asset management business with $140bn in assets under management, and capabilities across a wide range of asset classes and specialist investment sectors. This role encompasses identifying business development opportunities and helping to devise and implement a distribution strategy to institutions in Continental Europe.



The Business Development Manager Europe will be responsible for researching the Continental European market and identifying business development opportunities therein.  The successful candidate will report to and work with the Head of Business Development Europe to devise and implement the distribution strategy for Continental Europe.  This will involve working closely with all key stakeholders on product strategy initiatives and thus requires someone capable of anticipating changes in market direction from channel (e.g. consultant, institutional, intermediary), geographic and product prospectives.

In this role the successful candidate will be required to promote ‘global thinking’ within Europe and will be required to drive collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in each business location across Asia, the Middle East, North America and Europe.


The successful candidate must have worked in a similar function and will already have a substantial contact base and understanding of investment management manufacturing and distribution process.  The ideal candidate would be well-respected in the institutional market with particular strength in relationship management and business partnering.

He or she will be results-orientated with a strong desire to succeed. Partnering effectively and constructively in a matrix environment, and working collaboratively with the global business will be critical.

This is a client-facing role so the highest level of communication and interpersonal skills are essential.  The successful candidate should demonstrate high impact both at client and external conference levels.

Candidates will also be expected to demonstrate knowledge of the appropriate regulatory and governance issues relating to the development of the business function.
