BlackRock iShares Specialist Sales - Smart Beta

The EMEA Specialist Sales Team is responsible for Smart Beta and Liquid Alternatives ETFs AUM growth in coordination with the rest of the sales force. Professionals within the team are accountable for client relationships and distribution of Smart Beta (Single Factor and Multi-factor ETFs) and Liquid Alternatives (Real Estate and Infrastructure) ETFs and coordinate iShares contribution to BlackRock wide efforts across both product lines.

Role Description

A key member of the iShares EMEA Specialist Sales team, with responsibility for driving sales, providing product expertise, competitive positioning and supporting analysis to drive iShares product selection. The successful candidate will serve as a technical expert on Smart Beta and Liquid Alternatives ETFs product suite and influence/oversee the crafting and delivery product analysis for the EMEA client base. Ability to partner with teams across functions and aptitude to navigate the product set will be integral component to successfully engage with clients. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in sales, product knowledge and various investment systems expertise in order to effectively interface with senior client contacts as well as senior members of the iShares distribution, product and portfolio management teams. In addition to strong technical skills and product expertise, the role requires detailed knowledge of the ETF sales process and client characteristics in EMEA. The candidate profile will require a combination of quantitative skills, strategic thinking, organizational agility and practical investment experience to ensure the effective partnership with clients and collaboration with generalist sales to win new business and/or deepen large existing relationships.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Engage with clients providing detailed product analysis, such as single or multiple ETFs/mutual fund comparative returns analysis, holdings analysis, and risk and return attribution.
  • Influence creation of scalable content through leverage of technology mediums (Bloomberg and Aladdin), while keenly focusing on data integrity.
  • Along with EMEA Investment Strategy and Insights (ISI)/Marketing/US Smart Beta Team, drive the creation and delivery of product specific strategies and content to drive iShares sales.
  • Liaise with model portfolio solutions leadership to ensure product consulting team activities evolve around Smart Beta and Liquid Alternatives and are well rounded.
  • Partner with sales management to steward the sales pipeline as well as with Product Research and Innovation management for the future product development pipeline
  • Successfully lead product-related discovery and delivery of client meetings/conference calls.
  • Leverage extensive client facing and investment experience to evolve the types of analyses completed, techniques applied and delivery approach.
  • Continually expand and deepen investment, portfolio construction and iShares product knowledge base. Stay abreast of current market environment and the latest relevant investment research. Apply where relevant.
  • Serve as an active participant in cross-divisional teams across BlackRock SPM, Real Estate and Smart Beta.
  • Serve as a key speaker/participant at BlackRock sponsored and industry conferences as needed.
Skills & Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required
  • Fluency in European language (German/Dutch/Scandi preferred)
  • Significant industry experience, specifically extensive investment management knowledge and experience
  • Experience interfacing with EMEA based clients.
  • ETF product familiarity and industry experience.
  • Strong analytical skills: proven experience with Excel VBA, MPI, Morningstar Direct, Factset, Bloomberg or similar systems required.
  • High level of self-motivation as well as leadership skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Extensive client facing experience (investment consulting/sales), required.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize and collaborate vertically/horizontally in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to travel regionally and globally, ~25%.
