BlackRock EMEA Health & Safety Program Lead

Business Unit Overview:

Corporate Resilience, Safety and Security is responsible for overseeing and managing the physical security and health and safety of BlackRock's employees, visitors and facilities as well and for developing the firms Business Continuity plans. Additionally, the team is responsible for coordinating the firms activities related to crisis events.

Key Responsibilities:

This role will report to the Global Head of Health & Safety (H&S) within the Corporate Resilience, Safety and Security team. This position will support the development and delivery of the H&S Program while maintaining and coordinating a range of H&S initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to, supporting the Emergency Preparedness Program, Workplace Injury and Illness Program, Travel and Event Safety Program and Ergonomics Program, while partnering with teams within Corporate Services to ensure that the delivery of H&S components is within regulatory compliance. The applicant will act as the EMEA H&S Program lead and the region's subject matter expert on all H&S topics and be responsible for regional regulatory oversight. Regional oversight will require partnering with remote, cross-functional team members to support H&S programs and initiatives at existing office locations along with design and construction projects for new and existing offices. This role will also oversee regional H&S regulatory reviews, compliance verification, and support global training programs.

  • Oversee the delivery of H&S programs and initiatives in EMEA and ensure alignment with the global program
  • Act as the regional subject matter expert for regulatory requirements and program components
  • Support the development and coordination of new H&S program components in partnership with the global team
  • Work cross-functionally with internal Corporate Services partners to ensure compliance with BlackRock H&S standards and local regulations
  • Support H&S regulatory reviews and compliance verification initiatives
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in health, safety, science or a closely related discipline is preferred; will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience
  • Significant experience of H&S program operations
  • Strong, broad understanding of regulations in relation to safety, environmental and occupational health
  • Experience with program coordination and monitoring / reporting program success through metrics
  • Advanced skills in MS Office 2010, including Excel, Access, Word, Power Point and Outlook
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy with strong time management skills
  • Strong, clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working effectively in a matrix organization is desired
