BlackRock Onboarding Implementation Lead Associate

Business Unit Overview:

The EMEA OnBoarding team is responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of all on-boarding activities within BlackRock, across the region. The primary focus of the team is to establish the framework required to deliver a best in class client service experience. The team works with the numerous internal and external stakeholders, namely the Institutional and Retail Client Businesses and Investment Strategies Group, to ensure the successful delivery of these events.

There are 2 sub-groups within OnBoarding -
Implementation team: Works with sponsors, clients and all relevant stakeholders to understand requirements, develop solutions and safely implement portfolios
Data team: Structures portfolio data in core systems in line with the account objectives, to ensure that client assets can be accurately managed and serviced

Key Responsibilities:

The role carries responsibility for the timely and accurate implementation of new portfolios alongside subsequent change events. It is a role that is exposed to significant financial, reputational and operational risk, and consequently requires a conscientious organized individual to oversee events.

  • Assume ownership for implementing specified allocated events, coordinating across a wide group of internal and external parties to perform tasks necessary to hit the prescribed implementation date.
  • Gain and utilize a good understanding of the business infrastructure/ architecture in which we work, incorporating relevant systems and product knowledge.
  • Understand the pressures and drivers of the clients/ stakeholders that we support.
  • Constantly explore avenues for greater process efficiency, control. Apply time management attributes to balance multiple change activities alongside each other.
  • Act as a flexible team player to ensure events can be covered in the required timeframes.

  • Experience within the Financial sector, ideally with an Asset Management Firm, Custodian or Fund Administrator
  • Background within an onboarding environment seen as a differentiator
  • Professional qualifications i.e. IMC desirable
  • Fluency in a European language seen as an advantage
  • Relevant degree preferred
  • Confident, with an ability to thrive under pressure
  • Strong team player, who proactively seeks to build networks
  • Very strong task/ time management acumen. Able to prioritize work independently
  • Highly organized with excellent administrative skills
  • Driven to succeed, with a passion for the business
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Manager Comments:

The successful candidate will be working in a team that is critical to the efficient take-on of client activity within BlackRock. There will be the opportunity to develop an understanding of how BlackRock functions across the globe. Exposure will be gained to all parts of the business incl. the Investment Strategies Group, Product Development teams, the Client Businesses and the various support services across the firm.
