We Offer...

  • A varied, challenging and highly interesting role in the dynamic alternative market environment as Senior Underwriter with a leading ILS Fund Manager with a worldwide focus in Switzerland
  • Management, pricing and monitoring of assigned lines of business and handling of risk referrals and submissions (incl. selection of risks, review of cover structures, wordings, exposures, premiums calculations)
  • Lead discussions and negotiations with brokers and counterparties and ensuring appropriate contractual documents
  • Coordination of efforts with internal parties (e.g. Portfolio Management, Operations, Legal and Compliance) and external parties
  • Preparation of investment and market analyses, deal structuring and pricing as well as trade recommendations, presentations and reports to management and committees to ensure appropriate well-informed and risk-reward decision-making
  • Maintenance and expansion of professional relationships with existing and prospective counterparties including brokers, fronting entities, etc.
  • Analysis and monitoring of re-insurance and primary insurance market intelligence and trends, assessment of the implications for underwriting, investment strategy and business opportunities and establish forward looking views and recommendations
  • Development of new or potential business, including performing initial vetting of opportunities in coordination with internal experts

You Offer...
  • At least 5 years of underwriting experience with a focus on Property Cat business in the re-insurance industry
  • Detailed understanding of reinsurance and primary insurance
  • Basic experience with risk model tools (e.g. AIR, RMS)
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Good analytical, actuarial and technical skills
  • Structured, proactive and time efficient working approach
  • Ability to work autonomously in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Readiness to travel from time to time
  • General Programming skills (C#, Advanced MS Office, Matlab, SQL)
  • Fluency in English (oral and written)
  • Advanced MS Office
