The Technology and Operations team designs, develops and maintains computer application systems to support banking operations and provide innovative IT solutions, while harnessing new technologies to meet corporate objectives. In addition, we centralise, standardise and regionalise like-activities to achieve economies of scale and improve/re-engineer end-to-end processes to achieve world-class standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support the functional and technical domain for Account Services products & systems under GTS (Global Transaction Services) – such as Liquidity Management, Current Account, Fixed / Term Deposit and other related applications, for e.g. Transactional Data Store

  • Ability to translate business requirement into technical solution and providing advice to business users based on the system functionalities

  • Lead in platform engineering design activities, influence the roadmap, and guide technical direction for Account Services systems

  • Become the Subject Matter Expert for Account Services systems to provide solutions, efforts sizing and functional and design specifications for business initiatives

  • Track closely on the deliverables at different stages of the project and ensure meeting the project timeline

  • Perform business re-engineering on the existing processes to strength the existing control, improving customer experience and productivity

  • Participate in the user communication during the system rollout

  • Work with the day to day production management manager to provide timely resolution to daily production issues

  • Identify potential project risks and its implication to the organisation and to recommend mitigating measures so as to manage the risks

  • Understand the IT management policy, quality management policy and security guidelines to ensure the development processes and procedures and system are designed to comply with these policy and guidelines

  • Champion LEAN IT continuous improvement in software development life cycle (SDLC) or AGILE development and quality control initiative from Group


Requirements

  • Qualified professional with a University degree or equivalent, degree in Computing / Computer Science / Engineering preferred 

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in financial services domain. Development experience extremely essential; experience in support will be valuable

  • Deep functional knowledge of Liquidity Management products will be extremely advantageous

  • Experience in AGILE development and SCRUM-master certification preferred

  • Must be analytical, solution oriented, and able to propose and follow through both transformational and incremental change

  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required to work within the department, across the broader T&O department, with business partners and with vendors

  • Strong communication skills, able to communicate effectively at all levels, and both internally and externally. Concise and precise

  • Ability to effectively communicate across third parties and technical and business product managers on solution is a must

  • Essential to be able lead new capability and thinking and practice

  • Ability to work independently without much supervision

  • Must be able to understand and work on the various development languages and platforms – Java/J2EE, JBoss/WebSphere, SQL, Oracle/MySQL/MariaDB, RBMS

  • Strong working knowledge in UNIX/Linux/Windows and Oracle/SQL Server (SQL Querying, SP, triggers, views & other DBO)
