Regional Head of Corporate Resilience, Safety & Security

Team Overview

Corporate Resilience, Safety and Security is responsible for overseeing and managing the physical security and health and safety of BlackRock's employees, visitors and facilities as well and for developing the firms Business Continuity plans. Additionally, the team is responsible for coordinating the firms activities related to crisis events.

Role Responsibility

  • Oversees the Regional Corporate Security program and serves as the security subject matter expert within the region.
  • Oversees site security leads (many of whom are shared resources across the Corporate Services organization) and outsourced vendors that provide security services.
  • Oversees BCM staff and efforts to ensure the resiliency of BlackRock's businesses through the facilitation and management of a robust Business Continuity Program.
  • Works with the Global Head of Life Safety to help initiate a life safety program in the region.
  • Partners with business leaders across the region to ensure that Security, Life Safety and BCM programs are well socialized and designed to meet the needs of the business
  • Create synergies across team members in an effort to ensure that strong succession plans are in place.
  • Ensures BlackRock remains abreast of industry trends and is continuously improving security and life safety processes and practices to mitigate associated risks
  • Maintains strong ties with Local, State and Government law enforcement officials to ensure BlackRock is able to respond appropriately to local, state or national events or crises
  • Ensures compliance with all environmental health and safety regulations in all jurisdictions, i.e. Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, Health and Safety Executive (HSE) or equivalent requirements
  • Partners with the Corporate Risk Management team to mitigate risks related to security, life safety or facilities and implement risk reporting tools
  • Supports Global Real Estate and Design and Construction in the acquisition and development of new properties and the refurbishment of existing facilities
  • Partners with Facilities and Engineering Heads to ensure global practices are appropriately adapted for local business needs
  • Must be available during evenings and weekends to respond to unexpected emergencies and situations at any of BlackRock's locations globally

  • Requires a minimum of 10 years of progressive advancement in security, life safety or business continuity management
  • Financial services experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining a security, life safety or business continuity management program
  • Knowledge of BCM, security and life safety processes, performance metrics, and cost reduction opportunities
