The business analyst is expected to be able to interact effectively with all levels of the business in order to understand business problems, elicit business requirements and to provide IT solutions and to propose business process changes when required as part of the overall solution. The business analyst will be assigned to work on fast paced projects or enhancements predominantly in the back office space in the investment management industry, contributing independently or as part of a larger team that can be global or regional in nature.

Team Overview

Candidate will be a business analyst in the APAC Portfolio Services & Data IT Delivery Team contributing in local, regional and global initiatives.

Overview of role

The business analyst is expected to be able to interact effectively with all levels of the business in order to understand business problems, elicit business requirements and to provide IT solutions and to propose business process changes when required as part of the overall solution. The business analyst will be assigned to work on fast paced projects or enhancements predominantly in the back office space in the investment management industry, contributing independently or as part of a larger team that can be global or regional in nature.


Essential Skills

• More than 5 years of experience as an IT business analyst in the investment management industry.

• In-depth understanding of financial markets, security & reference data,  security pricing and instruments used within e.g. equities, fixed income, derivatives (OTC and ETD) and FX

• Good understanding of back office business processes: Trade processing, settlement, reporting, corporate actions, cash management, reconciliation

• Knowledge of the following systems or similar: Blackrock Aladdin, Charles River IMS, Simcorp Dimension, Factset, Bloomberg, Omgeo CTM, ION Eclipse, Bisam B-One, Markit

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Has the ability to communicate very detailed and complex concepts and ideas both verbally and in writing in a concise and clear manner to others within the organisation.

• Solid understanding of Technology

• Good Team player

• Self-starter and proactive

• Ability to think strategically and handle time pressure

Desirable Skills

• CFA-Certified candidate will be highly considered

• Exposure to global regulations is a plus

• Project management skills a plus

• Able to engage effectively with senior business stakeholders.
