THE ROLE

  • Report to Chief P&C Officer,  you will be responsible for the data components for research and innovation projects run in conjunction with the Regional Office (Chief Data Officer) and the Data Innovation Lab. Especially, you will build the bridge between current/future business needs and mathematical & computer technics. The Head of Data and Analytics has a clear leadership role in shaping the company data strategy, managing data as strategic assets for the business and leveraging the data science community (other data scientists, partners, labs, sub-contractors, etc.).
  • Identify the internal Data Landscape creating its associated mapping & identify the key assets
  • Conjointly define and map data characteristics with the Data Privacy Officer (DPO) according to protection (identification, sensitivity, purpose, source,…) & apply and control the adequate data protection level
  • Understand the data regulations as to privacy and compliance and their implications on data management
  • Sponsor and trigger data projects in collaboration with the Data Privacy Officer
  • Provide a vision for Data and lead the entity’s transformation turning it into a Data Driven Company
  • Optimize data usage and data quality
  • Set up partnerships for data acquisition
  • Develop further capabilities that exploit the Data innovation Lab (DIL) opportunities beyond the Enterprise Data Warehouse and look into legacy system potential.
  • Define the data management principles that steer the different Data lake uses (architecture of containers and tenants, etc.)
  • Start to store, consolidate and integrate customer, claims and contract Data
  • Plan and contribute to the change management actions connected with this shift
  • Secure and implement the permanent connectors to the Data lake in accordance with the business opportunities to build
  • Attract and recruit talent in the data science sector to develop local capabilities
  • This role will play a pivotal role in convincing the whole organization that our data transformation is worth investing in and critical to our success.
  • Be the SPOC of the Regional Office’s CDO and benefit from the Regional Office’s experience and group assets to start projects in agile mode (POC and then pilot)
  • Start monitoring and tracking benefits from data-driven projects
  • The role will need to overcome and remove several barriers and free up the resources to make this data journey feasible.
  • This will not only involve getting funding and new tools but also ensuring that the inherent investments and actions are correctly embedded in the entities’ strategic agenda.
  • The following actions need to be incorporated from the outset
  • Develop data awareness and data practices throughout the entity with the support of Group/Regional Office training programs
  • Give business professionals a wider access to integrated data by leveraging a more agile and interactive data environment (in collaboration with the DIL)
  • Secure the budget needed to develop our data infrastructure and to implement the project

REQUIREMENTS

  • University graduate in scientific education (engineering school, PhD) or in related disciplines.
  • 5 to 8 years of strong professional experience as a researcher or in a university laboratory, or as a R&D team member in an innovating company. You demonstrated in your previous professional experience a successful creation of a data science team contributing to the success of your organization.
  • Strong business acumen
  • Deep knowledge in mathematics (statistics and signal processing), computer algorithmic (Semantic Web, Social Networks Analysis, Data Mining, Knowledge management, clustering, artificial intelligence, etc.)
  • Proven experience in data mining or artificial intelligence.
  • Good relational capabilities necessary to contribute to complex projects involving many persons and skills
  • Pronounced taste for working into cross-functional teams
  • Autonomy, curiosity and innovation capability
  • Capable to deal with unclear and ambiguous situations with a need to invent the path for success
  • Leadership capability for community creation and team working
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build very effective rapport with internal clients and influence their decisions.
  • Fluent in English, excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
