Position Overview

Deutsche Bank (DB) has built an extensive domestic custody franchise that can allow our clients to access nearly 70 markets globally, of which we are the sub-custodians in 32 markets. DB offers fund services in 12 locations in the Asia Pacific and MENA region. DB Securities Services boasts a strong workforce of more than 1,500 staff, supporting more than 3,200 clients globally.

The fund accounting systems are supported by a dedicated team of about 25 members consisting of a mix of internal and external technology specialists. This team manages requirements from both CTB / RTB projects and the support of production systems, with the latter being done handled by dedicated production management personnel.

Fund Accounting (FA)

• Accounting for securities and cash transactions

• Securities pricing and portfolio valuation

• Income, expense and capital accounting

• Calculation of Net Asset Value (NAV)

• Reporting – client MIS, regulatory reports, system interface files etc

• Reconciliation of statements (cash and securities) with custodians

• Preparation of financial statements and audit support

The role includes the following responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to Business Analysts, in the review and analysis of requirements from the Fund Administration business as well as identifying and assessing change needs
  • Subject matter expert for Fund Services domain and lead analysis on delivering the solutions for accounting & reporting platforms
  • Acts as techno-functional specialist with good knowledge of business and technical aspects of Fund Administration business
  • Define and provide solutions for the projects in response to business problems / requirements
  • Contributes to problem investigation and root cause analysis and come up with solutions
  • Assesses and identifies mitigation for risks, including those related to high level design, integration, and data quality
  • Lead Analysis of new initiatives /innovative solutions, common frame works and utilities for the current platform used for Fund Administration business
  • Develop, manage and collaborate on standard practices and processes of the SDLC framework
  • Participates in cost estimates, functional design, solution architecture and technical design
  • Develop relationship with partners, working with them to optimize and enhance our integration

  • Experience required:
  • Domain knowledge and experience in Fund Administration business
  • Understanding of Fund Administration trade processing, NAV calculation and client reporting functionalities
  • Expertise in Simcorp Dimension, good understanding of Simcorp modules and functionalities, and underlying data structures
  • Through understanding and business and functional knowledge for the client reporting and financial statements in Fund Services area
  • Lead Business Analyst experience of at least 5~6 years, leading functional discussions and solutions.
  • Experience in working with Senior stakeholders in GT, Operations and Product Management team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient speaking and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in fast paced environments
  • Ability to prioritize to move work forward, while juggling (daily) urgent requests
  • Proven managerial experience – including internal and external vendor staffs
  • Ability to work in virtual teams and in matrix structures
  • Experience and interest in working with multiple locations
  • Proven Project Management and People management capability

  • Experience in budgeting process will be a plus
