Application Analyst (SUN GL / Vision)


Job Summary:
This role involves providing IT support for the Global Finance/Accounting Group, and being responsive to Global Finance business systems requirements as it relates to the IT infrastructure.

Job Duties:

  • Provide day-to-day IT support for the Global Finance/Accounting Group. Be responsive to Global Finance business systems requirements as it relates to the IT infrastructure.
  • Understand integration points within Sun and other global systems to fully grasp the impact of any proposed system changes.
  • F ollow appropriate change control procedures including proposed business requirement changes, functional specifications and testing.
  • Monitor critical elements of the SunGL and Vision applications including but not limited to; application services and access, month end closing procedures, financial reporting functionality, end user support, and Underwriting/EDW systems integration.
  • Work with applications team and project management office to comply with prioritization of projects within the Finance department
  • Communicate with users and information technology personnel regarding issue resolution and the impact of any proposed system changes.
  • Proactively identify areas of continuous improvement to reduce overall global support requirements.
  • Stay abreast of new functionality offered by Sun/Vision in the Finance area, to take advantage of enhancements as they become available
  • Assist in customization and delivery of training on SunGL and Vision for current and new users
  • Assist with upgrade and conversion of existing Financial software and reports as needed.


Qualifications
Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years Financial Services industry experience and SunGL/Vision reporting experience
  • Significant technical experience with SunSystems 6 and Vision software.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, SEC and regulatory reporting requirements will be highly advantageous .
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Goal and team oriented.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate in both business and technical terms
  • Possess a systematic, disciplined and analytical; approach to problem solving
  • Result focused and able to work with little supervision
