QNB Group, the biggest bank in Qatar, and a leading financial institution in the Middle East and Africa, is looking to hire a Head of Network, to meet the requirements of the expansion of its office in QNB - Qatar//Doha.
QNB Group's presence through its subsidiaries and associate companies now extends to more than 30 countries across 3 continents, providing a comprehensive range of products and services. The total number of staff is more than 28,000 operating from over 1200 locations.
The Head of Network to take responsibility for managing the team within the network support department and lead the development of the network operations function, its processes and procedures and ensure that services are delivered with budgeted cost targets.
Shareholder & Financial:
Oversee the performance of necessary network support to all business units operations and further the Group's strategy.
Assist in the preparation of strategies, standards, and guidelines for data and network related systems security of the Group's enterprise network in accordance with the overall systems security policy of the Group.
Contribute in the overall IT strategy execution.
Customer (Internal & External):
Liaise with the business unit heads for their network requirements and follow-up as and when required to answer their business needs.
Oversee relations with selected vendors for systems, networks, and hardware delivery and maintenance.
Build and maintain strong and effective relationship with all other related departments and units to achieve the Group's goals/ objectives.
Provide timely and accurate information to the external and internal auditors and the Compliance function as and when required.
Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):
Manage the resources and coordinate among staff and subordinates in the installation, monitoring, and maintenance of network components including workstations, S.W, peripherals, lines, cabling, and network equipment, within the overall objectives of the IT and business plans.
Prepare lifecycle procedures and guidelines for design, selection, implementation and ongoing maintenance of enterprise network components.
Prepare detailed requirements of enterprise network components for projects assigned and objectives within the limited resources, time and budget.
Assist in the preparation of strategies, standards, and guidelines for business continuity and contingency planning of the Group's enterprise networks.
Prepare and maintain documentation and standards for the different activities in the enterprise network support unit.
Prepare and maintain enterprise network inventory and maintenance history.
Assist in the overall recruitment process of the individual resources in his areas of responsibility.
Administer all branch MIS equipment (networking computing, Wintel Servers, video conferencing, switches, routers and other general networking equipment).
Maintain and troubleshoot the LAN / WAN and Internet Security equipment, bandwidth utilization, network related issues and network admission control issues.
Generate enthusiasm among team members by challenging others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and facilitate effective team interaction.
Ensure staff motivation to maintain responsiveness to a 24 hour based support and user environment via a help desk concept.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering.
Minimum 8 years experience in financial services with a specialization in managing systems network design, implementation and maintenance.
Training courses and certification in PC systems, network design & protocols, and network security.
