Senior Risk Manager (Capital Adequacy)

THE JOB

You will join the newly created Group Risk team whose primary purpose is to ensure that the business is managing risk within its agreed risk appetite, and in accordance with the associated Risk Framework.
You will support the group wide capital assessment approach and processes, with responsibility for leading the ICAAP assessments in Central Europe (CE), including ownership and production of certain group wide templates, involved in CE assessments and supporting other group assessments, ensuring CE regulatory reporting requirements and internal deadlines are met. You will support capital requirement assessment for change process / assessment / impact on capital of significant risk events, etc. within the CE region.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the capital adequacy assessment through the management of operational risk scenario meetings, including the preparation of materials for participants and the documentation of discussions and conclusions
  • Lead the ICAAP projects and ensure local standalone requirements are adhered to
  • Support the design, coordination and tracking of the group wide capital assessment plan and ensuring prompt escalation of issues affecting delivery
  • Assist in the performance of scenario stress tests
  • Collaborate with the finance departments to ensure capital planning and stress testing are aligned with business models
  • Contribute to the reporting of capital assessments to senior stakeholders and externally
  • Provide support to the Group capital assessments team
  • Proactively challenge existing practices and recommend improvements
  • Help to embed capital and risk management into business strategy and decision-making
  • Contribute to the development of the Group capital assessment approach, methodologies and templates
  • Support the CE Chief Risk Officer in performing capital assessments, producing documentation and internal reporting
  • Ensure regulatory reporting requirements and internal deadlines are met in the Continental Europe


THE CANDIDATE

  • Prior experience within the financial services industry is essential
  • ICAAP work experience is essential
  • Undergraduate degree level education (or equivalent) in a numerate discipline is an asset
  • Ideally a charted accountant or risk management qualification with at least 3 years post-qualification experience
  • Understanding of risk management and capital regulations at the enterprise level
  • Understanding of Basel II and Basel III regulatory frameworks and a keen interest in regulatory development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including superior report writing
  • Strong organizational, analytical and interpretative skills with the ability to meet deadlines together with a high degree of personal initiative
  • Can work effectively as a team member and independently
  • Establishing and maintaining highly effective working relationships with all key internal stakeholders
  • Proven management and communication skills
  • Excellent PC skills including sound working knowledge of reporting and data management software
  • Prior work experience in an international regulatory and operating environment
  • Operational and financial risk work experience preferable
  • Fluent in English, German is an asset
