As a Quantitative Research Technologist, you will be part of our Quantitative Research team and help the team deliver trading strategies faster and with high quality. Working side-by-side with our quants, you will get first-hand exposure to cutting-edge research in a true trading environment.
~Due to our continued growth we have a superb opportunity for a skilled Python engineer with strong operational focus and a keen interest in financial data and research. As a Quantitative Research Technologist, you will be part of our Quantitative Research team and help the team deliver trading strategies faster and with high quality. Working side-by-side with our quants, you will get first-hand exposure to cutting-edge research in a true trading environment. The key responsibilities of this role are:
Manage and automate our production infrastructure and jobs supporting multiple trading strategies.
Design and maintain Python tools, libraries and the development environment supporting quantitative research projects.
Contribute to the design, management and automation of complex data pipelines that process financial data, making sure they are highly available, fast and correct.
Own the development roadmap and maintenance of tools and libraries that help the quantitative research team deliver high quality trading strategies.
Work with quantitative analysts to build both ad-hoc and systematic tools and datasets which help in optimizing trading behaviour and results.
Manage the research environment infrastructure and lead projects with partner teams to improve its quality, performance and usability.
Manage the in-house continuous integration system and toolset.
A passionate technically savvy engineer with a background in Python development (C/C++ and Cython a plus).
Operationally minded with a solid understanding of what it takes to deploy and run mission-critical systems in Linux environments.
Solid understanding of networking and operating system fundamentals.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience. An advanced degree is a plus.
Previous exposure to Python’s scientific stack (numpy / pandas), scientific data storage formats and Python web development frameworks (flask / requests).
Experience with version control, build servers and automated testing.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with traders, quantitative researchers, and other engineers.
Good attention to detail, self-motivation and ability to react to changing priorities.
