An attractive opportunity has arisen to join a start-up hedge fund management structure, based in Dublin. The Chief Risk Officer will be responsible for setting up the platform to monitor all risks, as well as report to the firm’s Risk & Valuation Committee, on all investment portfolios.

Your role:

  • Monitoring funds’ limits usage and overall level of risk; e.g. counterpart, market, liquidity, operational, and stress testing of these risk parameters
  • Defining the risk parameter of asset allocation
  • Establishing risk parameters for primer brokers, OTC counterparties
  • Carry out due diligence and ongoing due diligence on Managers, as well as supervision of delegates
  • Oversight of regulatory reporting and filing and liaising with the CBI
  • Supplying reports to the Committees of the Board of Directors


Your background:

  • A Masters degree in Finance, Investment or Law and Finance or a related field
  • CFA or CAIA charter holder or have completed the FRM qualification
  • Have 8-10 years’ comparable experience in the asset management industry
  • Can demonstrate their experience in developing risk management plans, valuation and risk monitoring tools
  • Have in-depth knowledge of UCITS and AIFMD
  • Can work as part of small, specialist team in developing a first-rate investment management platform


Salary: €100-120k plus bonus and benefits
