(Senior) Quality Assurance Engineer – Information Technology Division (Associate/ Vice President)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create master Quality Assurance (QA) test plan, manage test process, review test deliverables based on functional requirements and software design technical specifications. Perform integration and regression testing of systems according to release schedules;
  • Define and Collect metrics. Ensure all development tasks meet quality criteria through test planning, test execution, quality assurance and issue tracking. Carry out performance and load testing activities and ensure the QA testing is completed on time as per the project plan;
  • Point of contact for the QA team for all the escalations related to testing and quality assurance;
  • Ensure the team is focusing on automation along with manual testing approach. Ensure QA engineer is on the right track all the way in the project and act as the L3 /escalation contact to provide solutions to mitigate of any risks, issues and defects;
  • Review test strategies and ensure all various kinds of testing, e.g. functional, performance, stress, acceptance, etc. getting well covered;
  • Sign off the QA test plan. Set quality standards for the teams in using new testing technologies in the industry.  This may include finding new strategies for automation testing and day to day work processes like agile and scrum;
  • Ensure that several testing and validation processes are improved continuously. Publish the improvements to all stakeholders;
  • Analyze test results and prepare detailed or summary QA test reports to senior management of Information Technology department and all the stakeholders respectively;
  • Work with vendor or in-house development teams to ensure that the quality engineers get apt support like automation hooks or debug builds where ever and whenever possible;
  • Maintaining cordial relationships between cross functional teams such as business users, development team, project management teams, infrastructure team, security teams & etc. in order to understand their requirements in term of user and functional perspective;
  • Communicate with vendors and service providers to understand the functions of their products, architecture and testing methods; and
  • Perform such other duties as shall from time to time be directed by the superiors.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree holder of information technology, computer science, finance, business administration, applied science or a related disciplines;
  • A minimum of 5 years of Quality Assurance experience in banking or related financial institutions;
  • Experience in financial software development with thorough understanding of the Capital Markets and Equity business knowledge;
  • Familiar with front to back systems on futures, cashing trading, listed derivatives trading, foreign exchange and settlement systems on global markets.  Knowledge on fixed Income, and global commodities, prime brokerage and foreign exchange is a bonus;
  • Hands-on experience in Windows, Linux servers, VMware and databases such as MSSQL and Oracle preferable;
  • Good knowledge in professional software engineer practices and application development life cycle;
  • Practical experience in HP Performance Center, HP ALM, Eclipse, HP Unified Functional Testing, Eclipse, Soap UI, Oracle SQ developer, MS SQL server management studio and MSDN;
  • Proficient in Java and C##, SQL with related programming languages, coding standards, design patterns, frameworks, middleware, technologies and tools; Experience in Apache Pig, HiveQL and Jira will be a plus;
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, Visio and MS Project;
  • Basic knowledge in computer network;
  • Able to multi-task with good analytical skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills and problem solving skills; and must be a good team player; and
  • Excellent command of spoken and written Chinese and English. conversational level of Putonghua is required.
