We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Head of HSBC Universal Banking, Core Banking Asia Pacific.

Principal responsibilities

  • Work alongside the business to understand their key drivers and metrics to better assess the potential for Information Technology solutions or changes to enhance the business and advise relevant Information Technology teams of the potential for future projects.
  • Identify in the responsible areas cost saving, income generating opportunities that could be exploited to increase business profitability.
  • Propose areas to exploit and leverage on available system features to develop new business opportunities, especially in the case of Group system features for the sites of other Customer Group.
  • Promote best practices, awareness of potential project initiatives in other Customer Groups that present reuse opportunities.
  • Assess effectiveness of launched initiatives and ensure that Key Performance Indicators are met.
  • Regularly provide update on the market and competitor trend's in the use of technology to support the business in the responsible areas.
  • Respond promptly to any queries and issues raised by the Principal Relationship Manager and their business partners.
  • Maintain full and up to date understanding of the business strategy, current practices and system capabilities.
  • Analyze the business request and need, guide the business to fully flesh out the intention, objectives, benefits and Key Performance Indicators of the request, and create full user requirement for communicating to the supplier locally, regionally or globally.
  • Keep current on technical and professional advances and business strategies, market trend and competitors' development in the area of responsibility.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the internal business requirements and strategies, and the supporting systems.
  • Identify new projects, process improvements and problem prevention opportunities. Develop and conduct regular presentations to management.
  • Maintain and ensure due observance of HSBC Internal Control Standards, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal and external auditors and external regulators.
  • Ensure awareness of compliance requirements and implementation of Group Compliance Policy.
  • Maintain awareness of operational risk including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting in accordance with the Group Operations Financial Instruction Manual.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology or a related field.
  • Significant experience of working in Information Technology or business area
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert on technical and business with solid knowledge of Information Technology systems supporting the Customer Group business
  • Proficiency in the Customer Group business strategy, process and internal procedures
  • Clear understanding and experienced in Core Banking or related business departments
  • Good command of written, verbal, and interpersonal communication aptitude
  • Excellent analytical skill and influence skill
