Applications Support Senior Analyst

Main responsibilities:

First line user support and resolution of issues in the production environment. Accurate incident reporting and management, adherence to change control procedures for system releases and other changes. Ownership of issues from detection to resolution, including root cause analysis and if necessary creation of requests for the development team. Estimates the risks and opportunities in our day to day job, and take initiatives to reduce the risks and improve our efficiency. The support team are located on the Equity Trading Floor.

A strong focus on client service and an understanding of the time sensitive nature of the Production environment is essential. A very strong interest in Derivatives-related businesses is also needed as it is a high-visibility role involving building relationships with not only traders and middle-office users, but also with the local and remote development team and other teams.

Key Skills Areas and Knowledge:
  • 3-5 years relevant' experience gained from the banking industry
  • Good product knowledge of Equity and Derivatives and business background
  • Basic understanding of P&L calculation, greeks and P&L attribution
  • Good knowledge on both UNIX and Windows environment as well as on SQL are essential
  • Familiar with Shell commands and scripting is required
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and able to provide solutions
  • Good communication and organizational skills, analytical mind
  • Able to manage pressure by accompany business requests while seating on the trading floor
  • Self-motivated, a team player and capable to perform in a fast paste environment
  • Punctual, reliability and rigorous
  • Proactive, able to suggest ideas for improvements and to pinpoint potential issues


  • Degree holder or above
  • Fluent written and spoken English
Experience Required:
  • 3+ years experience of Derivatives IT Front Office support
  • 3rd Party or in-house derivative risk system
