Senior Legal Counsel – Asset Management Comp & Ben

Nordea is the largest asset manager in the Nordics with EUR 219bn in Assets under Management (Q1 2017) and around 675 employees from 25+ different nationalities. Nordea Asset Management (NAM) is responsible for all actively managed investment products in Nordea. We have been one of the most successful European asset managers in the last 3 years and have a presence throughout the Nordics and in large parts of Southern Europe. In addition, we have representation in Asia, US and South America.
NAM is dedicated to active management; it is at the heart of what we do. We are committed to delivering returns to our clients, and we do it in a responsible way. NAM is the centre of excellence for investment management in the Nordea Group and in the Wealth Management division. We are a semi-captive asset manager serving both the internal Nordea channels, including Personal Banking, Private Banking and Nordea Life & Pension, as well as external channels – Institutional Clients and third party fund distribution (Institutional and Wholesale Distribution).
At this juncture, we are looking for an experienced and competent person to join us, as we provide the opportunity to come in and build and implement our Reward structure, which is an important fundament on which to grow our business.

The position we offer

In this newly established role, we offer the opportunity to combine theoretical thinking in terms of Reward strategy in Asset Management with a strong component of operational implementation of ideas. The scope of the position covers all our geographical locations.
You will work closely with our People Business Partner, local experts and external vendors/lawyers to ensure that we comply with the general, as well as local regulations in our respective locations. You will be expected to interpret and illustrate the legal ramifications and possibilities and listen to the business needs and fulfil them within the legal and Nordea group parameters.
It is a visible role and stakeholder management will be an important part of the job. You will reach out to the NAM organisation and have conversations about a sensitive matter like remuneration. In addition, you will interact with NAM Board committees, as well as assist in creating various documents for the legal considerations on remuneration and rewards for presentation to the NAM Board. You will also have a close collaboration with Comp & Ben in Nordea Bank.
You will be part of the Asset Management’s Legal team and report to the Head of that team.
