BlackRock Analyst, US & Canada Institutional

Key job responsibilities:

  • Managing day to day contact with institutional clients and consultants
  • Performing a variety of analytical functions including business sales strategies, portfolio transitions, portfolio structure and compiling returns
  • Attending in-house meetings and limited travel to clients/prospects
  • Composing and editing business correspondence for various client service and business development functions
  • Participating with other members of a team to provide high quality timely responses to client and prospect requests
  • Coordinating and executing investment management proposals, including RFPs under extremely tight deadlines
  • Strong professional representation on the telephone and at in-house meetings of prospects and existing clients
  • Facilitation of setting up new clients at BlackRock
  • Ensuring all necessary documentation (legal, compliance, specific reporting is executed in a timely manner
  • Coordinating new fundings, client contributions, withdrawals and transitions
  • Responsible for fielding day-to-day client requests regarding their account, procedures, funding activities, billing issues, contractual issues and new assets
  • Continuing education in finance, investments, and pension fund issues, as well as service techniques to provide consistently improved support
  • Participating in special project assignments that may have impact across all team
Skills and requirements:

  • Has a BA/BS degree in related field (Economics, Finance or Accounting), MBA or CFA desirable
  • Has 1 - 4 years of directly related experience
  • Investment knowledge and interest in capital markets
  • Is motivated by sales and revenue retention
  • High quality communication skills, both orally and in writing, to a range of audiences
  • Has strong quantitative skills along with demonstrated analytical ability
  • Has the maturity and judgment to deal directly with institutional clientele
  • Is organized with strong time management skills
  • Has analytical ability to synthesize information and summarize issues
  • Has high proficiency in Microsoft Office and an aptitude for learning new applications
  • Is customer-focused
  • Is an effective team player, able to work with people of all levels
  • Has a high level of self-motivation, integrity and ethics
  • Ability to work under pressure
