CIB - Technology - Production Support Analyst - Associate - Sydney

This current opening is for an experienced Production Support Analyst to assume responsibility for first and second level Equities Trading application support. The role will support the Australian Cash, Prime, PT, Electronic Client Services, Delta One and EDG desks, with the main focus being to ensure the smooth running of the Equities Execution Plant in Australia.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Be familiar with usage and functions of client order management system, trader order management system, direct market access, low-latency trading system, FIX order flow, and client & exchange connectivity
  • Engage actively with traders and support trading floor activities by promptly resolving production queries, requests, issues and outages
  • Manage all support activities using an incident management system
  • Maintain the overall stability of the production execution environment
  • Drive continuous improvement through incident and problem analysis and follow-up, driving the process improvement agenda
  • Assist with release management implementation and post validation in production environment
  • Liaise face to face with management as required

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Technology or related area)
  • At least five years of relevant experience in Equities Technology, Investment Banking, Vendor Company or related area
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Equities markets and Equities business processes, especially front office order management and trading function
  • Proven ability to support order management system, algorithmic trading and provide active solutions
  • Strong knowledge on FIX messaging and protocol
  • Understand application high availability and disaster recovery failover scenarios and able to execute the steps
  • Strong analysis, problem solving and investigation skills
  • Good knowledge of a technical environment using Unix/Linux and shell script skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to confidently and clearly communicate at senior levels
