Associate Analyst 3

Location: Buenos Aires, Argentina

As an Associate Analyst 3, you will support a team of senior rating analysts covering insurance sector financial institutions in Latin America: monitoring of published ratings, assignment of new ratings, special research publications, and other analytical tasks. Your responsibilities will include:

•Providing qualitative and quantitative analysis to assess credit quality of the lead analysts' rating portfolio.
•Independently preparing for Rating Committees and Portfolio Reviews by gathering data, preparing charts and financial models in accordance with Moody's methodologies
•Monitoring potential credit implications of industry-related or issuer-specific developments
•Preparing research and analysis both independently and under the direction of lead analysts
•Drafting fundamental credit research and in-depth reports and publications, including overseeing the research publication process
•Preparing materials for conferences and presentations
•Supporting lead analyst in managing relationships and communications with issuers and intermediaries
•Working with team members and lead analysts on ad hoc projects


•Minimum of two years of credit analysis experience or comparable work experience from a recognized financial institution, audit or consulting firm.
•BA required and MBA preferable (BSc/MSc or equivalent), with a focus on economics, finance or business administration.
•Ability to understand and analyze audited financial statements, including experience working with complex financial instruments and/or accounting principles, such as accounting derivatives
•Familiarity with debt and loan structures, including understanding of supporting legal documentation
•Strong financial modeling skills and advanced knowledge of Excel are required. Working knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint is desirable.
•Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, adapting to changing demands as needed; a self-starter able to work independently and in a team to achieve all business deadlines.
•Basic knowledge of Property and Casualty, Life, and Reinsurance sectors
•Fluency in English and Spanish is essential
•Excellent interpersonal skills with solid oral and written communication skills; comfortable leading complex financial discussions in front of a sophisticated audience.
